Privacy policy

Data we collect

• IP address — routes tests; retained max 30 days then purged.
• Test results (consent only) — ping, download, upload, country/region, timestamp. Sent only after you click "Accept" on the consent banner, and never linked to your IP address.
• ISP / region — city/country via IP geolocation for on-page display; not stored with telemetry.

How we use it

• Service delivery and server routing
• Anonymised regional benchmarking
• Security and abuse prevention

Retention

• IP addresses: max 30 days, then purged
• Telemetry: anonymized speed-test results in our research database — no IP addresses stored
• Test history: stored in your browser localStorage only — never sent to our servers

Browser extension

• No personal data. The SpeedCheckTest Firefox & Chrome extension collects no names, emails, IP data, browsing history, or personal information.
• Speed measurement only. When you run a test, the extension sends anonymous measurement traffic to Cloudflare's public speed-test servers (speed.cloudflare.com) purely to measure your connection speed.
• Local history. Your past test results are stored locally in your browser's storage on your device only. They are never uploaded, shared, or transmitted.
• No ads, no tracking. The extension contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party trackers.
• Permissions. Storage (local history) and clipboard (copy your shareable result link). Host access is limited to Cloudflare's speed-test servers (speed.cloudflare.com) — the extension does not read or modify any other website you visit.
